Resale & Rental Certificates - Housing & Commercial Inspections Resale & Rental Certificates - Housing & Commercial Inspections

Inspections, both rental and resale, are required for rental and resale properties, and are done by appointment on Wednesdays from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Please schedule your inspection at Borough Hall, open Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

The fee for the inspection is $75.00 (exact cash required) and a heat certification is required prior to inspection and if there is a wood burning stove or fireplace, a chimney certification is also required. For rental certificates, please note that the State of New Jersey required Landlord and Tenant Registration information, as well as proof of insurance at time of tenant turnover and annually thereafter; more details are provided in the "Certificate Instructions" document below.

Please Note: Residential rental properties built before 1978 have additional lead-safe or lead-free proof required and a $20 State Lead fee (exact cash required) .
